1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how D&M Collective LLC ("React Sync," "we," "us," or "our") manages information in connection with your use of the React Sync Chrome Extension ("Extension"). This Policy is designed to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), and all other applicable California and United States privacy laws and regulations. By installing or using the Extension, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Extension.
2. Scope and Applicability
This Policy applies exclusively to the React Sync Chrome Extension and governs all data practices related to its use by individuals located in California and, where applicable, the United States. This Policy does not apply to any other products, services, or websites operated by D&M Collective LLC.
3. Information We Collect
a. Personal Information
React Sync does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or personally identifiable information ("PII") as defined under the CCPA, CPRA, or other applicable laws. No names, email addresses, account information, or other identifiers are collected.
b. Usage Data and Technical Information
The Extension operates entirely within your browser environment. We do not access, monitor, collect, or transmit your browsing history, playback activity, device identifiers, IP addresses, or any other technical or usage data to our servers or any third party.
c. Cookies, Local Storage and Tracking Technologies
React Sync does not use cookies, local storage, web beacons, pixel tags, or any similar tracking technologies for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose. No data is written to or read from your device for tracking or profiling.
d. Sensitive Information
We do not collect or process any sensitive personal information, including but not limited to government identifiers, financial information, health data, or precise geolocation.
4. Chrome Extension Permissions
To provide its core functionality, React Sync may request the following Chrome extension permissions below.
- tabs: Synchronize playback between browser tabs
- syncTab: Enables temporary interaction with active video content for syncing purposes.
- host permissions: Limited to supported domains (e.g., uploaded files, Youtube.com, Vimeo.com) to enable basic video control.
These permissions are strictly limited to the operation of the Extension and are not used to monitor, collect, or transmit user activity or data. The Extension does not access any data outside the scope of these permissions.
5. Use and Disclosure of Information
Since React Sync does not collect, store, or process any personal or usage data, we do not use, share, sell, rent, or disclose any user information to third parties for any purpose, including advertising, analytics, or marketing. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising or profiling.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
As no data is collected or stored by the Extension, there is no data to retain or delete. If our data practices change in the future, we will update this Policy and provide clear mechanisms for users to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data, as required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or process any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action, including prompt deletion of any such information.
8. Data Security
Although React Sync does not collect or store personal data, we implement industry-standard security measures to ensure the Extension remains safe, permission-scoped, and non-intrusive. We regularly review our code and security practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of the Extension's functionality. We follow the principle of least privilege in requesting permissions and conduct periodic security assessments.
9. User Rights Under California Law
Under the CCPA, CPRA, and other applicable California privacy laws, California residents have certain rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. However, since React Sync does not collect, store, or process any personal information, these rights are not applicable. If our data practices change, we will update this Policy and provide appropriate mechanisms for users to exercise their rights.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
React Sync does not track users over time or across third-party websites and does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, as no tracking or data collection occurs.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Extension may interact with third-party video platforms (such as YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, etc.) solely for the purpose of synchronizing video playback. React Sync does not access, collect, or transmit any data from these platforms. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
12. International Users
While this Policy is intended to comply with California law, users outside the United States should be aware that the Extension is designed to operate in accordance with U.S. privacy standards. If you are located outside the United States, you use the Extension at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
